1 year prison sentence Adnan Rahmat Panah, Baha'i resident of Shiraz, which was issued by the appeal court was confirmed in appeal court. Revolutionary court has recently informed Adnan’s family about his sentence.
According to an informed source, this sentence has been issued based on the charge of “propaganda against the government through Facebook posts, and relationship with friends”. One of the main evidences used against him in the court was a photograph that a friend of Adnan has tagged him in it.
The source added: "Sending an email to the BBC and Radio Farda about the situation of the Baha'is of Shiraz is the other evidence of court for this sentence.
It’s worth mentioning that Adnan Rahmat Panah had been arrested by security forces in the morning of 12 December 2012 and was transferred to detention center in Shiraz (Pelak 100).
After 186 days, he was released on bail with the amount of 200 million Tomans and finally, in the third branch of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz, he was sentenced to one year prison on charges of "propaganda against the regime".
